Commemorating the abolition of slavery in France

The National Day of Remembrance of the Slave Trade, Slavery and it’s Abolition is held every year in France on the 10th of May. Due to the corona virus pandemic the celebration was done on a small scale this year. A ceremony was presided over by PM Edouard on Sunday. Regional prefects were asked by the PM to organize ceremonies for the public in each department, while respecting the social distancing rules.
