The current unprecedented health crisis has hit everyone hard. Many have been left without employment, uncertain when or if they will even return.
The charity sector, reliant on the generosity of the public have understandably been particularly badly affected. With some facing imminent collapse. Throughout these 8 weeks of lockdown, MABS Cancer Support have continued supporting those with cancer. Because for them, their battle continues. Revenue from the shops helps MABS to provide this invaluable support and service but despite that suddenly drying up overnight, MABS are still there.
Despite the Government decree stating that small shops can begin to re-open from May 11, we have listened to feedback that many feel it is too soon. MABS have therefore decided to wait. To protect both the volunteers that give up their time and you, who visit our shops with donations and to buy. Instead, we will re-open on Monday, June 1.
If you have donations of clothes or bric-a-.brac, we would very much appreciate if you could hold on to them for just a little longer. For any furniture, we offer a free collection service which is available from next week. Call Wayne on 634 336 200. If you can help us by making a cash donation. However small, it will go towards providing much needed support for those living with cancer. Visit the website www.mabscancerfoundation.com and click on the donate button at the top. Thank you and look forward to seeing you all back in June.
