Germany’s VAT likely to be reduced in food service industry.

Germany’s cabinet has decided on the reduction in VAT for the catering trade, previously agreed in the coalition committee meeting between the Union and the SPD on 6th May. Food in restaurants and cafes should temporarily incur 7% instead of the 19% VAT, which otherwise has been seen as significant relief to overcome the effects of the corona crisis.
