After two months of lockdown and over 31,000 fatalities, The Italian government will permit lift travel restrictions from 3rd June.
Inter region travel will also be permitted, an enforcement strictly adhered to so far. With falling infection rates, the country is keen to restart the economy.
Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte will reopen shops, restaurants and churches on 18th May with face masks and social distancing enforced.
This is a great sign for the rest of Europe, if infection rates are contained. If other countries follow suit, there is hope of a gradual return of tourism and general travel.
