The daily new cases of the virus rose sharply yesterday, going from 451 on Monday to 813. Deaths also rose to 162 from 99 on Tuesday the Civil Protection Agency have said. The total death toll since the 21st February when the virus first started stands at 32,269 they have stated, the third highest in the world after the USA and Great Britain. The amount of confirmed cases comes in at 226,699, the sixth highest tally after USA, Russia, Spain, Britain and Brazil.
There were 716 people in intensive care on Tuesday which is down from 749 the previous day, maintaining a decline daily. Of those originally infected 129,401 have been declared as recovered against 127,327 the previous day.
