A loss of smell and taste have are now considered to be coronavirus symptoms in the UK.
So far a persistent cough and a fever, have been thought to be the main indications of a possible infection.
Many in the scientific community have said that losses of smell and taste should be regarded as a symptom.
The New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group (NERVTAG), has been monitoring the situation over virus indicators. .
In the United States a loss of both smell and taste senses have already been acknowledged as being symptoms.
Professor Warns Over Symptoms
Professor Tim Spector, a major researcher with King’s College London, warned that many symptoms are not being taken into account.
The college has produced an app that garners symptom information.
Over 1.5 million people are thought to have cooperated with the app.
Spector revealed that about 14 symptoms have been recorded, which are related to having a positive swab test.
Not all the symptoms been recognised by official channels, he argued.
WHO Symptom List
The World Health Organisation has organised a list of warning signs that a person could be infected with Covid 19.
A loss of taste or smell has been added to that list.
Alongside aches and pains, a sore throat, diarrhoea and conjunctivitis, or a “red eye”.
A rash on skin, or a discolouration of fingers or toes is also part of the list.
Any tints or stains on toes were considered a symptom, as many reported this occurrence as the virus spread globally.
