The Spanish supermarket chain Mercadona will be implementing a new working week for it’s staff as from Monday 4th May. It will basically mean that staff will work 4 days a week and have 3 days rest. The measure will be extended across all of it’s stores with the aim of reducing contact between the workers and members of the general public. There will be rotating shifts where approximately two thirds of a stores workforce work while the remaining one third rest.
