Boris Johnson is set to give people more freedom in the first phase of relaxing the lockdown.
More Freedom for Brits? The plans, which would include enabling people to exercise outdoors more than once a day and drive to the countryside for walks and picnics, are to be introduced later in May according to reports.
These new rules will only be put into place if the cases of the virus continue to drop in the UK. And people would still have to adhere to the strict social distancing guidelines of staying 2 metres apart and only spending time with people from their own household. For this reason playgrounds and beaches, where people tend to gather in large groups, will remain closed.
The Prime Minister is due next week to release new lockdown measures, including plans to help businesses reopen also expected. It was reported yesterday that Mr Johnson would like people back at work on the 26th May, the Tuesday after the bank holiday, if cases are low enough.
