The Nao pool club in Marbella goes up in flames the night before residents look to officially start the summer season.
The fire, which is reported to have begun around 2 in the morning local time, rose high into the night sky as staff had prepared meticulously to bring the swanky club up to standard for reopening today.
However, the club stated via Instagram that ‘Only the strong survive. See you at 14.00!’ giving hope to fans that they’ll be open today.
No indication for the fire has been given, however other clubs in the area have gone up in flames due to criminal activity.
In 2018, Estepona beach club Heaven was destroyed by fire after a South American drug cartel warned the owner, David Avila Ramos, for money owed.
He was gunned down in his car soon afterwards.
There has been no link of Nao pool club to criminal activity and the club is adamant they’ll be open for business today in what is hoped to be a ‘normal’ summer after the lockdown due to Covid-19.
