The Spanish towns of Marbella and Fenguirola are to use technology to monitor citizens as the first week of Covid phase 1 plans come to light.
Fenguirola is to use state-of-the-art technology to track how many people are on one area of beach at one time whilst Marbella will use new surveillance cameras to control areas of the town.
Marbella Mayor, Angeles Munoz, called in a meeting with security forces to bring about the best technology to move into phase 1 with.
“The implementation of the video surveillance system, equipped with the latest technology, will allow us to control capacity in strategic places in the city,” Ms Munoz said.
These controls are being introduced in other parts of the world aswell as officials look to contain the virus and to move the regions into phase two.
The Mayor also called on individuals in the area to adhere to social distancing and for people to use self-discipline and responsibility.
Police will be brought in to make sure controls are implicated.
Yesterday in Palma de Mallorca, a bar was closed by police after more than 25 people gathered within inches of each other to drink and party, breaking social distancing laws.
He claims police assaulted him.
