An 84 year old doctor has passed away from the disease after serving his community for decades.
Dr Karamat Ullah Mirza was still treating patients only 2 weeks before he died. The doctor and his wife, Estelle, came to the UK in 1966 and she said he had “enormous determination”.
The couple had been married for 48 years and Mrs Mirzal went on to say that her husband
“would fight for his patients to the end of the earth and was so dedicated to them”.
Dr Mirza was raised in a family of doctors in his native Pakistan and had lived and worked in Clacton-on-Sea since 1974.
