The Spanish Health Ministry have confirmed the coronavirus data for Wednesday the 10th of June 2020.
Data released by the Ministry today show there have been 167 new cases of Covid-19 in Spain in the last 24 hours, over double since Tuesday where the case figure was 83.
There have been no Covid-19 related deaths across the whole of Spain and her islands for 48 hours now.
Data released shows the majority of the new coronavirus cases were reported in the country’s capital with pproximately 62 of the new cases have been diagnosed in Madrid and 17 in Catalonia.
The other cases were detected in Aragón (14), the Basque country (13) and the Valencia region (13). The number of cases almost doubled again from 48 on Monday to 84 yesterday too (Tuesday).
The daily doubling of cases is causing concern with Fernando Simón, Director of Health Alerts & Emergencies at the Ministry of Health, saying during a press conference today: “Although the risks of contagion remain low, it’s vital to remain cautious and continue to take health and security precautions.”
Spain’s number of deaths from coronavirus stands at 27,136.
The State of Alarm is ongoing until the 28th of June.
