The Spanish Ministry of Health has confirmed there has been an increase in new coronavirus cases across in the country since yesterday.
The number of new (Covid-19) cases has doubled in the last 24 hours in Spain, according to the Ministry.
86 new cases of the disease have been confirmed as of late yesterday
However, there were only 48 registered on Monday, reaching a total of 241,966 cases to date.
Yesterday, the number of coronavirus cases dropped by more than a half, from 102 diagnosed on Sunday to 48 on Monday.
Approximately 149 people with the disease have been hospitalised across the country during the last seven days, of which 12 have needed intensive care treatment.
There have been no new deaths from the virus in the last 48 hours, which has become a trend in the last few weeks despite some days there being a surge in new cases.
Spain extended the state of Alarm until the 21st of June.
PM Pedro Sanchez has rolled out a new decree today that people will still be forced to wear masks in public places until a vaccine is found.
